The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) appears set to limit prescribing of controlled substances via telehealth either through a new regulation or non-extension of the current flexibilities.
The Alliance for Connected Care is leading an all-hands on deck advocacy effort, requesting Congress and the White House to intervene to ensure ongoing access to virtual prescribing for patients and providers of certain controlled substances.
In early September, hundreds of stakeholders called on federal leaders to ensure patient care is not interrupted by expiring prescribing flexibilities.
