It is crucial that Congress immediately acts on a long-term telehealth fix in its next legislative package

Please join us in a letter urging Congressional leaders to immediately act on a long-term telehealth fix in its next legislative package to ensure stability and provide clarity for patients, providers and the health care system as a whole.

Congress has extended telehealth flexibilities multiple times immediately prior to the looming deadlines. Unfortunately, failure to do so this year has led to an abrupt end to telehealth services for millions of Medicare beneficiaries. This cycle of temporary fixes has resulted in patients and providers facing continued disruptions in care. Another short-term extension is unacceptable.

Remote Patient Monitoring

Supporters of the Rural Patient Monitoring Access Act (S. 1535/H.R. 3108) is circulating a letter, requesting cosponsor support. The RPM Access Act would ensure Medicare patients in rural and underserved communities have access to RPM services.

Initial signers include the Alliance for Connected Care, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Telemedicine Association, Ascension, ATA Action, Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), Lifepoint Health, Marshfield Clinic, National Rural Health Association, SSM Health, Remote Monitoring Leadership Council, and the University of Virginia Center for Telehealth.

Cross-State Telehealth

The Interstate Healthcare Collaborative is leading a letter of support for the SHARE Act, which would require the FBI to available criminal history record information to a state occupational or professional licensing authority for background checks of individuals seeking a license under an interstate compact.
